It's a HUGE news week this week, and here's a little more to get you excited. We've been announced on the bill for the 2010 Big Day Out, PLUS we're curating a festival in Brisbane called Q150!

Remember how last week we mentioned that we'd have some exciting news via Twitter? Well, we're going to give you a bit of a hint. This Friday October 2nd we're going to be playing 3 free shows in 3 cities around Australia. And yep, we'll be doing them all on the one day.

We’ve been promising you some exciting news, and here it is! We can happily confirm that Powderfinger’s new album will be called GOLDEN RULE, and you’ll be able to get your mitts on it from Friday November 13th!

We hope you Splendour goers have recovered sufficiently! A few of you may have spotted certain Powderfinger members floating around the festival site over the weekend, but those of you that were in the Super Top after You Am I's blistering set certainly wouldn't have missed them! The 11 000 people that were there at the time will be hearing themselves on Powderfinger's new album!

We're very excited to announce that we'll be playing at Homebake - the 15th Anniversary edition on 5th December! This is particularly exciting, coming from the depths of the studio, and we can't wait to play our new material live.
More >POWDERFINGER RETURN TO THE STUDIO!
Saddle up 'Finger fans, it's the news you've been waiting for! This coming Monday 22nd June Powderfinger are returning to the studio! Taking the helms for this album will again be Nick DiDia, responsible for Internationalist, Odyssey Number 5 and Vulture St! After recording their last album Dream Days at the Hotel Existence in LA, the band are looking forward to recording the new album in Australia. While we don't have a release date as yet, you can expect to see the new album out at the end of 2009.

Earlier this year, we announced that the closing track from Dream Days at the Hotel Existence, Drifting Further Away, would be featuring on Grey's Anatomy in the US. Well, Australia has finally caught up, with the episode going to air THIS THURSDAY MAY 7th, at 8:30PM on CHANNEL 7.
