Before Powderfinger, JC had art-college aspirations. And now that he has a bit more time on his hands, he’s decided to turn his crafty, low-frequency hands back to their art-school roots—focusing on painting, sculpting, and performance art…
Not likely! Sorry. Instead JC has launched himself headlong into a very different kind of artistic pursuit.
Opting for ‘behind-the-scenes’ rather than ‘in-front-of-the-curtain’, JC has opened a live music venue called The Triffid. And in a very short space of time, The Triffid has grown from ‘hottest new venue in Brisbane’, to an iconic part of the musical landscape. It plays host to everyone from big touring acts to local up-and-comers.
The beer garden and bar is pretty epic too. Have you seen the ‘wall of Brisbane bands’ artwork yet? This venue has so many highlights—you’re just going to have to check it out for yourself.
